Female Pilot : Gender Is Not A Problem In Flying High Skies

I would like to dedicate this post to all the aspiring Pilots around the globe no matter what gender you are. This Pilots really do work hard in ensuring high safety for all of us flying and also a good handle on the aircraft.

After the post of “This one's for the girls” by Dato Tony Fernandes in his blog, many blog readers are inspired with the concept of having female pilots in Air Asia despite of not many major airlines do really have female pilots. It is believe that Air Asia has the most female pilot in ASEAN and also having the first female Captain Pilot in ASEAN, which is Captain Norashikin Onn.

Pilot Nadira Ramli

I was fortunate to meet Pilot Nadira as she was just finishing her flying report before calling it for a day. Being a pilot is always a passion for Nadira. She had graduated from a local flying institution and has been flying for Air Asia in her young age. With the experience that is building up in her wings, she also have her dream to be a Captain and also obtaining more experience in flying long hour routes.

Being so low profile, Nadira discuss about her routes of the day she had flied before I initially meet her. It is understood that Air Asia pilots and Cabin Crew will have to cover 4 routes and sometimes it also rise to up to 6 routes. Even though Nadira performs her duties in her daily routes, her religion teaching of fasting in Ramadhan month is been practiced strictly in her. There was no excuse for not fulfilling her religion tradition. For Nadira, fasting is being the challenge of being calm in any conditions.

Explaining An Experience Onboard

When Nadira been asked what it is like to live for your dream as a pilot, she gave a quick response of “Loving It All The Time.” That is something passionate to hear a female pilot love her career with Air Asia.

Being a Muslim, Nadira has no problem in fasting while flying an aircraft during the fast Ramadhan month. I was so obligated to ask this question which was really playing my mind in a long time.

She also had informed that even though she flies to various type of routes, she will normally break her fasting following the local time. By this, Nadira point out this is a interesting role to be a Pilot because it has different points of view being a pilot.

A Picture With Pilot Nadira Ramli

Pilot Nadira also commented that different human being has it own limitations of fasting while during their normal routine in life. It depends on how an individual can handle a long route during fasting month. She also stated that Air Asia treat all its staff including the Pilots equally. This is because all Pilots are bound to their roster of duties which has he flight that has been assigned to each of them. She is fortunate to celebrate Hari Raya due to given holidays for the celebrations.

Even though being a pilot has it own challenge, Nadira had proven too as every other female pilots in Air Asia that possibilities in handling difficult situation can be manage by both genders.

I manage to have a picture of a group of Pilots who are preparing their flying plan for their route for the day. It was a fortunate chance been given to me to share of how does an AirAsia Pilot really perform their responbilities

I would like to thank Miss June, Dato Tony and all AirAsia Crew for giving the spot to highlight the true red colour in AirAsia.

Till then,

BON VOYAGE READERS !!!

MAS : No Change For A380

Recently, it has been opted that MAS has broached the idea of swapping the A380 which will be commencing in early 2011 for smaller wide-body aircraft to avoid up to US$300 million in penalty if it were to cancel the order.

The concept of swapping the A380's will be to having more A330's and also A350's. With another Malaysian brand airline,Air Asia which are over helming the target of using 100% Airbus compare to Boeing by all 3 based countries which is Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia.

With the current operation of Airbus by MAS, it have around 14 A330-200/300s with an average age of 13 years. This may will be a good venture of purchasing new A330's around 18  to 25 units and opting more fuel efficiency by the brand Airbus.

The real fact is that MAS are planning to replace their wide-body aircraft and also evaluating various options to ensure that the aircraft complement with their fleet replacement strategy. At the same time, they do believe in need to match the new aircraft to their famous network growth plans, especially for key markets such as South Asia, China, Australia and the Middle East.

MAS ordered the A380s in late 2003 through Penerbangan Malaysia Bhd, a leasing company owned by the Ministry of Finance. If the swap were to take place, MAS would likely phase out its entire fleet of Boeing wide-body aircraft comprising seventeen 777-200s and thirteen 747-400s.

With the current restructuring the aircraft in MAS, it had been a while which all the 777's and also 747's had made the strongest support for MAS in their long haul routes.

Replica MAS A380

From swapping from Boeing to Airbus, MAS need to be very cautious and careful when planning either both A330's and A350's can produce the same service as Boeing had been producing for MAS. This is because the engineering in both Airbus and Boeing are both two different background. Can all MAS Pilots and engineering cope of handling different hydraulics and fly by wire system in a short time of period?

This would be great if MAS would consider of having detailed advise on the engineering and servicing all Airbus fleet from Air Asia. It also been reported that Air Asia are having options of loaning more Airbus A340's towards next year in conjunction of the route to United States.

In the current update, MAS already has an order for 35 narrow-body 737-800s, with another 20 on option, delivery of which will start in the fourth quarter of next year. However, these planes are more for regional flights and will be replacing most of its 737-400's. With the current updates in purchasing new aircraft by MAS, this would ensure the name of MH is always top in the world.

Ramp Crew - Ramadhan Experience

Passionate & Determination Is The key

Introducing Ramp Crew,Mr Nor Firdaus. He is well known with the name of “Bob” among Air Asia crew which is totally a suitable name for a tough and passionate person like him to be a ramp crew. Mr Firdaus handles the safety measurements in handling ground operations when an aircraft taxi at the tarmac. This includes maintaining a good alliance with the flight operations such as maintenance, towing aircraft, loading and offloading luggage, attending request of each aircraft, supplying man power and many more. With the unpredictable weather conditions no matter rain or shine, the responbilities been taken is not easy and simply challenging to handle it. With having numerous years of experience, Mr Firdaus and the other fellow crew handles it professionally and always been in ready mode physically and mentally.

When asked of his experience as a ramp crew, Mr Firdaus stated that being a ramp crew is simply challenging and adventurous. Why does he say that? Is because the normal routines and task cannot be forecast in a predictable order or schedule due to various technical issues being occurred for the ground crew such as ramp to be precise on how heavy luggage they will be handling, the efficiency of performing maintenance on aircraft, the logistic request been entertained and most important task performing safety duties in different types of weather conditions. In short, each of them should be ready to multi task in a short time of notification.

As part Of Air Asia,Smiling is a Priority

So with the heavy task in his shoulders, fasting is not the reason why he should least his daily task. This year, Mr Firdaus will be on duty on both Hari Raya celebrations for the 4th year in a row. Even though it is something beyond he could expected, he said that job is job when ever the company needs you to fill in no matter any days in a year. He would not be celebrating the Raya celebration along but there is also some of his colleagues who are Muslims are also been assigned to be on duty too. He also stated that might be a small celebration within the crew will be held in order not feel sad but to boost up the team spirit.

The Honor Wearing The Uniform and Loyal Man Utd fan too

There are few interesting situation occurred while performing normal routine while fasting but he calmly stated that is all the real challenge in daily routine that he is use to handling it. It meant by, everyday is something interesting to share about. Fasting month also do influence the real patience being as a ramp. This is because frustrations do build up very often due to task had been done will bounce up to re-do all over again. Mr Firdaus was kind enough to share an experience just occurred on the day before I met him which is when a flight is ready to be take off, the numbers of passengers and the amount of luggage listed after checking-in is more than the number of passengers in the aircraft. That shows there is few passengers had not board into the plane. Therefore announcements had been made in terminal but the missing passengers did not turn up and the flight had been delayed due to missing passengers. The captain of the flight had instructed the ground crew to remove the luggage of the missing passengers in order to catch up the delay timing.

  Sharing Some Experince With Me

For Mr Firdaus, Air Asia always cares for its staff with over helming support in fulfilling religion responbilities. He is also glad all his non Muslims crew members really supports each other in filling up duties while the Muslims prepares for break-fasting and “Sahur”(the meal before sun rises). They even share the precious time by having meals in a big group no matter any religion you are in as mutual understanding always has been practiced well in Air Asia

1Malaysia F1 Team Debuts In 2010

Dato Tony and Mr Azran Standing Proud Infront 9M-AFW Airbus A320 with Williams F1 car

It all started when team Force India driver, Giancarlo Fisichella had won 2nd place in Belgian. After the race, I read about Dato Tony Fernandes's suggestion to have Malaysia's very own Formula 1 team. During that time I knew that Dato Tony will do his best in bringing up his dream of having a Malaysian Formula 1 team. From the inspiration from forming the world best low cost airline, Air Asia to top 5 star hotel with low price, Tune Hotels I believe this individual is thinking out of the box. Who may had think to do the same concept as been produced in this current world now?

Tune Hotels Branch in Penang,Malaysia

Following in involvement of Formula 1 by team 1Malaysia, the FIA has awarded the 13th entry in the 2010 FIA Formula One World Championship. It will be a great start to the new Lotus team. Following the current updates, the FIA also received an impressive application from the BMW Sauber team in which also has a Malaysia Brand like Petronas as the premium sponsor. As such, it has awarded BMW Sauber the '14th place' in the championship meaning that it will be entitled to fill any vacancy that arises on the 2010 grid. By this we can we various Malaysia brands are in the Formula 1 such as Petronas, Air Asia, Proton and more.

Air Asia Crew With Nakajima,Dato Tony and Nico Rosberg

In addition, the FIA believes that a good case can be made for expanding the grid to 14 teams. The FIA will be consulting urgently with the existing teams regarding the introduction of an appropriate rule change to expand the grid to 28 cars in time for the first Grand Prix in 2010. Detailed below is information about the new team that has been confirmed to compete in the championship from next year, joining fellow newcomers Manor Grand Prix, Team US and Campos Meta. Company Name: 1Malaysia F1 Team Sdn Bhd Team Name: Lotus F1 Team Country: Malaysia Team Principal: Dato Tony Fernandes

A partnership between the Malaysian Government and a consortium of Malaysian entrepreneurs such as Air Asia and also Naza, 1Malaysia F1 Team returns the Lotus name as a constructor to Formula One for the first time since 1994. Currently, the team will initially be based at the RTN facility in Norfolk, UK, some 10 miles from the Lotus Cars factory. A 50,000 square foot fully equipped facility, RTN was built by Toyota for its initial Formula One programme and then used by Bentley for its successful Le Mans programme. The team’s future design, R&D, manufacturing and technical centre will be purpose built at Malaysia’s Sepang International Circuit.

So its been confirmed that the team Principal will be Dato Tony Fernandes which is also the founder and CEO of the Malaysian-based Tune Group, owner of the Air Asia airline. The team’s Technical Director Mike Gascoyne has over 20 years of experience in Formula One having previously performed the same role for the Force India, Toyota, Renault and Jordan Formula One teams.

As part of its application to compete in the 2010 FIA Formula One World Championship, the team has agreed an engine supply deal with Cosworth and a wide variety of technical partnerships including Xtrac and FondTech.
The team is understood to already have a shortlist of six drivers, including both Malaysian and international names, and an announcement confirming their line-up is expected in late October. We surely believe experience is the main key to have to have good driver's coach by having Hall Of Fame drivers such as David Coulthard, Mika Hakkinen and many more.

According to Malaysia's Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, who made the announcement at the Ministry of Finance on 15th September , said the team would be based at the Sepang International Circuit, making it the first to be located outside Europe.
“This is where the cars will be designed, manufactured and tested. It will be ‘Made-in-Malaysia, by Malaysians’ and of course, the pit-stops will be run by Malay-sians,” he said.

He also said that, “This is a meaningful development and I hope that it will further raise our country’s profile on the world stage.”The team will have a Malaysian technical and pit crew, totalling some 200 people, to be managed by former Renault technical director Mike Gascoyne.

I believe this would really create for fans among Malaysian in Malaysia and also around the globe. I also would like to urge everyone to be proud of ourselves as we have our very own Formula 1 team...

PDRM : Evolution Lancer

Recently, PDRM (Polis Di-Raja Malaysia or well known as Royal Malaysia Police) had signed a memorandum of purchasing more than 20 Mitsubishi Evolution Lancer for the year 2009. This is because PDRM engineers had assured that the technology and the stability built in Evolution Lancer is been the top priority of purchasing it. It is also been under estimated that an Evolution Lancer is around RM 320 thousand at recent market price. So, let us all calculate the amount of money PDRM willing to spend for the usage in reducing crime.

(Mitsubishi Evolution Lancer belongs to PDRM)

According to the officer in-charge for the purchase of Evolution Lancer, this cars will be used for high speed chase pursuits against criminal whom offended serious crimes no matter on highways or main roads. It is also been told that only officers with the rank of Sargent and above are entitled for handling and driving the Lancer. I wonder what will all the junior ranks would be feeling this time? Each driver need to go for an intensive driving lessons for a month at any disclose Police Training Centre in Peninsular Malaysia.

( The support been given to PDRM from Lancer GT Club)

That driving lesson will be including on how a officer should react during in high speed pursuit and also been taught to drift in small area of roads. Wow, in that time I felt our PDRM is going some where beyond towards the future in cars and the technology. Wish to join the force but not interested at the moment. This would also incourage more exposure of latest bikes, gadgets and more into the PDRM as it will be a good benefit in reducing crimes in Malaysia.

( Collection Of PDRM Evolution Lancer For Patrol and Investigation Purpose)

( The Truth Under The Hood : MIVEC Turbo 2.4)

Before leaving the memorable event which was been held at Shah Alam District Police Station, I had manage to explore the interior and also took some pictures with it. In my opinion, this is a good move been done by PDRM for purchasing Evolution Lancer no matter how much it cost. Just imagine using a Proton Waja for a high speed pursuit? I believe you all knows the answer right?

See ya!!!

Air Asia : Memorable Interview Experience

It was Sunday(12th July 2009) evening, I was back to my room after a weekend with my family. I woke up early for that day for a wedding function in Gurdwara. So, once I return straight change my clothes and jump on my Mr Bed for quick nap for couple of hours. Once awake, just fresh up myself and sat in front of my computer to prepare my task and material for classes during the week. (Gosh! I just saw Air Asia's A320 flew above my room while I am writing this blog, its a total beauty....hehehe)

As normal, I check all my mails when I first sit in front of my computer. And there was something that was not suspected to happen which I had receive an email from Air Asia Crew informing me that I am been call up for an interview for a job that I had requested. I was not too convince that is that the email from the Crew. I showed the mail to my roommate and he congratulated me and told this a good opportunity to be in number one airline in Asia. Alright then, so it is not a dream then. "Lets do it, do it with honor" that was the sound in my heart said. The interview was scheduled on Wednesday (15th) at 3pm. My mind so nervous and started to count the countdown for Wednesday...I know it sound weird but was so excited!!!

Day by day, time had pass by and there is the day I been waiting for, Wednesday (15th July). I was up in the morning and attended my all my classes till afternoon in a high spirit mode. In that high spirit, there was something which made me felt angry which was class been delayed to finish as the lecturer wanted to finish the particular topic on that day too....SIGH!! After class, quick rush to room and had a quick change before bouncing off to LCCT Sepang. As I was late, my room mate did speed up more than normal highway maximum speed so that I wont be late for my interview. Thanks Satkuru...
Once in LCCT compound, everyone will have the dilemma of finding nearer parking spot to the terminal. I wonder what does all Air Asia crew feel everyday by parking further away from the terminal. Hope the proposal of having a new LCCT will be resolve soon.

Back to my post, as I was preparing myself to the interview venue which is in the Air Asia main office in LCCT I been ask to show my identification card (IC) to register myself as visitor before I proceed into the office. The guard was strict but was not rude to me. He ask it politely due to the protocol of any airline company for a visitor to register themselves before entering. The atmosphere at the entrance was so busy as many crew members of Air Asia moving in and out of the office. It is nice to see them because their smiles made my nervous feelings went away in a split second. Now I knew why Air Asia had become the partner of sponsoring the AT&T Williams & Oakland Raiders team. It is because, Air Asia is so rich with their smiles and low profile concept.

For everyone's kind information, the atmosphere inside the office is much more than I had expected like a normal office with a quiet breeze of sound but in Air Asia, all the crew are busy with their own task. They have their meeting rooms named after famous destinations to be at for holidays such as Jakarta meeting room, Bali Meeting Room and more. Back in the office, some crew been seen conducting meetings in the meeting rooms, some are having short discussion before their shift starts, the flight attendants (they were so beautiful and so friendly) are informing each other about their routes, the pilots was talking about the bad haze during the day, ground Marshall walking in and out and many more. In short, there was no time of talking anything except for work with each other in the office. I just knew how is the situation of an airline company runs because their main objective for the day would be making sure all aircraft leaves and comes on a tight schedule and to reduce time delay for all passengers. Oh ya, if you ask me how do I know these? Well the answer is I was waiting for my Interview instructor at the main lobby in the office and I saw this wonderful airline team working.

In brief, the environment in the office is so red-dish as it was a celebration festival which Air Asia is "painting the town red" such Chinese New Year Celebration,Hari Raya and many more but it is actually the original layout color of the office. There is one thing which really amaze me which is the floor is been filled with red lights which is the replica design a runaway look alike. Oh yes, it look simply awesome and creative too. It is simply superb and wish to that individual who had this idea : "Well Done". Oh ya, when I entered the office there is a very sweet and humble receptionist at the main entrance to guide me which office I should be in. Not forgetting, there was two big aircraft models of Air Asia's A320's and also A330's. That was a nice feeling to see that while entering and trust me,after what I felt and saw in the office my nurveousness went off just like a strong wind just blew it away from me.

This is all about my experience and will write more....See you all soon...

Bon Voyage,
Satwin Hans

Melaka MB Request Air Asia CEO, Dato Tony Fernandes To Operate Flights From New Melaka Airport

The Chief Minister of Melaka, Dato Ali Rustam had personally requested budget airline, AirAsia, Dato Tony Fernandes to use aviation facilities at the newly-upgraded Batu Berendam Airport (the previous name) from May 1 of 2009. He said this in his statement to Bernama as "Saya akan panggil Datuk Tony Fernandez datang ke Melaka dalam minggu ini atau minggu depan. Kalau sempat beliau akan menjelaskan di dalam mesyuarat Exco esok supaya Air Asia boleh terbang lebih awal,"katanya lagi." Mohd Ali said he will meet AirAsia chief executive officer Datuk Seri Tony Fernandes soon on the matter. The airport, given a RM131.5 million facelift, can be used from mid-April. It can accommodate Boeing 737 aircraft and Airbus at half-load, he told reporters after inspecting work progress at the airport. Upgrading work by Konsortium Uni-Integrated started in April 2007 to facilitate health tourist arrivals, particularly from Sumatra, who number close to 60,000 a year. The airport will have a 7,000 square metre new terminal and will be equipped with facilities to receive domestic and international flights.
Mohd Ali said facilities for full load landing by Boeing and Airbus are expected to be ready in October, with the runway extended by 400 metres to 2,200 metres from 1,800 metres.

Dato Tony Fernandes, after a meeting with Mohd Ali in August last year, had said for a start AirAsia had identified six destinations which is four in Sumatra and two domestic which also been operated from the airport. Boeing aircraft will be used to land and take off for Palembang, Pekan Baru, Padang and Medan in Sumatra, Penang and Langkawi. Dato Tony Fernandes however has told the state government AirAsia's passenger and cargo planes will use the Batu Berendam Airport only at full load capacity.

I believe Dato's decision is good because to accomondate a satisfaction of its passengers flying with Air Asia.
According to Dato Mohd Ali said the airport can handle 1.5 million tourists and rake in RM1 billion revenue when it is fully operational. The Batu Berendam Airport, the country's first health tourism airport, has plans to handle flights from Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and Hong Kong, he added. For me, I believe Air Asia is the best airline that have been pursued by the Melaka Goverment instead of other airlines companies in Malaysia. The true concept of producing low fares to everyone is making the Melaka Goverment to believe Air Asia is the right airline to promote tourism to Melaka by encouraging all tourist from all around the world including London and also Australia. The expectation of inaugural from LCCT Terminal from Sepang to Melaka will be around end of this year. An low budget airline had conqured most of the domestic flights in Malaysia and hopes more will enjoy and be happy with Air Asia who makes people's dream to fly in an aeroplane to any part of the world....

Bon Voyage and meet you all in my next post.

Three baggage carousels have been installed to handle baggage for departure and arrival flights. Commercial activities are offered with outlets for F&B and a duty free shop. Car park lots totaling 90 are available for the public, while 20 are allocated for staff, 10 for taxis and 10 for buses. The terminal is configured with 38 CCTV cameras for security monitoring. For the year 2008, Melaka airport processed a total of 23,751 passenger movements, handled 178,618 kg cargo shipments and 700 aircraft movements.
The Batu Berendam Airport was officially opened on Oct 1952 by the Duchess of Kent. It is located 10 kilometres from Malacca town. Under the Japanese Occupation during the Second World War, the airport saw little improvement. Further construction only took place under the British from 1948 onwards.

It has the same concept as Kuala Lumpur International Airport which is also been designed by Malaysia Aiports Holdings Berhad ( MAHB ).

Royal Malaysia Police Family Day 2009 @ Titiwangsa Lake Garden

It was Saturday morning, mum and dad woke me & Minder up for this day. First I tought it might be boring because every Family Day has usual activities. By the time we all reach at Titiwangsa Lake Garden, I was proved wrong. There were demo shows been held from the Police Marine which is used a power boat on water and also Air Commando Demo using helicopters. The event got even more hotter with sky divers jumping out from the aircraft above 10 000 feet.
Also was present for the event was General Police of Malaysia, Tan Sri Musa Hassan and also Deputy Minister of Defence, Dato Wira and more. The family day was grandly been held as many Police officials with their family members attended and celebrated this family Day. Friends, do you know that the Police Force have purchase new Mitsubishi Evolution X to enhance a forceful car chase of criminals around Malaysia. According to one of the officials that I have met, there has been 20 cars been purchased and be looking foward to have more. Here is the sample of the car :

My brother with the new Malaysian Police Patrol Car...Watch out If You Plan To Run...

I was honoured to take a picture with Tan Sri Musa Hassan, General Police of Royal Malaysia Police. He is a calm and nice person to talk with and also was friendly enough to take picture. As for everyone's knowledge Tan Sri Musa Hassan has been the most longest serving as General Poloce and had fulfill many changes into new developement involving technologies equipment during duties and also policeman welfare & social status. He had managed to reduce the rate of bribary of policeman in Malaysia by enhancing strict law and also increase wages too. To Tan Sri, it was an honour to have a picture with you and this would be a good rememberance in my life..

As you read in this post, I have talk about the Marine Unit and Patrol Unit. Actually there is also different types of units in Police Force which is Federal Reserve Unit (FRU), Forensics, K9 Unit, Traffic, Bomb Squad, Weapons Specialisation Squad, Air Control Unit and more. The next topic which I really love watching them in action was the Air Control Unit. An overview of this unit is that these specially design unit is been trained for both mission battle and also air control observation. This includes flying both the helicopters and also the airplanes which belong specially for the Police force. I was impress with the explaination from the Pilot. He was kind and helpful to answer all the question about helicopters from me and my brother, Minder. Me and Minder loves aeroplanes alot and we often talk about them also watch all the Aircraft Crash Discoveries. We both do have the common ambition, to be a Pilot. I hope I can achieve this in my life.

Alrite, back to then main topic...The rank of an Police officer to be a Pilot would be minimum Assistant Superintendant Police (ASP) Officer which the candidate should be entitled with good English and Mathematics skills. As for me, this could be a dream come true if I can be a Pilot in our Malaysia Aviation Airspace. Check out me and Minder took a snap in the helicopter and also with the Pilot..
Minder trying out the headset of the helicopter

Me & The Pilot

As for me, I would like say Thanks to my Dad & Mum for bringing me to this wonderful & joyous event....

Airbus A350,The Prince of Airspace...

( The Future Air Asia A350-900)

As I was reading the article of the latest airplanes been purchase by Air Asia, I begin to wonder the specialty of Airbus A350. Well, I would say that Airbus A350 is new step of aviation aeroplane which can fly more further range and also the weight which is light may reduce the fuel cost of a particular Airbus A350. So, I would like to wish to the CEO, Dato Tony Fernandes and all the ground and air space crew "Well Done & Congratulations" of purchasing 10 new Airbus A350. It been scheduled to arrive by 2016 in time of leasing off the Airbus A340. This would encourage more International routes around the world with Aibus A340 & Airbus A350.

So, most of you may ask what is so special with Airbus A350 ? Well the answer is simple,it is the next generation of replacing the Boeing 787 which is producing good market in the aviation industry. Based on my knowledge, this aircraft can occupy 314 passesngers and it is believe to save fuel cost by 60%. The cabin will feature a number of new features, as Airbus seeks to counter the new concepts introduced by Boeing in the cabin of the rival 787 twinjet.

It is unclear the exact extent of the German automotive company's participation in the new interiors.

“There are new lighting features and shaping in the cabin,” says A350 chief engineer Dougie Hunter. “We can project onto the ceiling whatever is appropriate for the mood required – for example the night sky or clouds etc.” Hunter says that a concept around the door two area has a bar area and seating for economy.

“In the entrance area there is a dome that that gives us the feeling of spaciousness or openness in the cabin and configured for whatever mood you want to generate,” Hunter says.

Airbus has also improved the overhead bin design to increase their volume. “The number of bags that can be accommodated in the centre bin of the business area will be two standard roller bags per passenger,” says Hunter. “The economy bins can take one standard roller bag per passenger.” Quoted from Airbus website.
